Each of our products is handmade by expert woodworkers from separate pieces of wood, which are fastened with the grain at 90-degree angles to provide maximum strength. With their intricate crisscross design, our wood grates add a nice touch of detail to any home. Whether you need a grate for the floor, ceiling, or wall, we can provide a mounting system that perfectly suits your needs. Our standard grate style is made from sturdy 4/4 by 1/2-inch solid wood that is carefully interlocked. You can choose to order a self-rimming (or drop-in) grate, a surface mount grate, or a flush mount style. For an especially tidy, finished look, you might opt to include a frame for your flush mount grate that can be nailed into the floor, ceiling or wall surrounding the duct opening. Wood options include 4/4 solid stock red oak or ash, 5/4 lumber grade red oak, and 4/4 solid stock in Brazilian cherry, white oak, maple, or white Northeast pine, Southern yellow pine. In addition, we offer 1 1/4-inch solid stock in maple, white oak, yellow pine, and ash as well as American cherry, heart pine, Brazilian mahogany, hickory, and walnut. We're also glad to accommodate special orders, including custom sizes, mounting styles, and woods.
